What is Temperament Testing?
Temperament testing is also known as the Arno Profiler System (APS). The testing helps to provide an opportunity to discover an individuals personal Heart, Mind and Soul DNA as recognized by Creation Therapy. Creation Therapy recognizes God's creation of an individuals unique internal design structure
What can the APS test results be used for?
This takes less than ten minutes and the results will be shared with you at your second session.
Do I have to be in person to have it done?
No, after paying for the test I will send the link via e-mail which will allow you to take it from wherever in the world you reside.
Basically the APS test shows an individual's personal design and will provide their strengths and weaknesses to provide direct insight. Then those pinpointed known areas creating issues can be quickly addressed. One major benefit is that because it gets to the critical issues quickly, it helps reduce up to an estimated six to eight sessions off from the normal amount of individual/couples counseling sessions!

Temperament Testing Background
The Arno Profile System (APS) (formerly known as the Temperament Analysis Profile) is an accurate, simple, and highly effective tool to identify the inborn temperament of the individual seeking counsel. It enables a counselor to help identify an individual's bearing in life and gets to heart of the problem faster than other conventional secular therapies. This means an individual or family can save money by greatly reducing the number of individual sessions, or if married a number of couples counseling sessions! Looking at getting married soon? This is also a great test to take for premarital counseling! The test can be administered to children (7-11 years old), adolescents (12-17 years old) and adults (18+ years old).
Evidenced Based Treatment
This method was developed by Dr. Arno during seven years of research involving five thousand (5,000) individuals cases that were seeking help for their problems. Preliminary conclusions found based on this initial research was that Creation Therapy was over ninety percent (90%) successful when administered by a person who has been trained in this counseling technique (Arno, 2005). Since that time, their research covers over 25,000 cases with an incredible 95% success rate (Arno, 2013). It should be fairly noted that there have not been any independent studies outside of the organization.
This tool identifies a person’s relationship needs and to what extent those needs are or are not being met. Areas where needs are not being met cause stress and anxiety to build up. By helping the individual to have their needs being met in Godly ways produces satisfying and lasting results.
What is Temperament Testing?
In Creation Therapy theory, the inborn temperament is placed within us by God while we are in our mother's womb. Our temperament remains with us throughout our lives. How we chose to express it can and may be influenced by the following:
• Our upbringing (how we were raised as children)
• Our environment (physical and cultural)
• Our education and training
• The indwelling of Holy Spirit actively at work in the lives of those in Christ Jesus
It is believed, the core of an individuals temperament influences and determines how they interact with their environment and other people around them. This inborn temperament can also influence our perceptions, expectations and understanding of the world around us and of the people who love us.
The Personality Mask
People can learn or select behavior that is very different from their inborn temperament for everyday survival which creates an imbalance of life. This mask hides the true temperament that is at an individuals core. The mask worn can result in a person's temperament needs not being met, and they may feel an increasing build up of stress and conflict in the course of life.
Our Conflicts...
It is believed that very person is unique and has different needs revealed in their temperament. When an individual attempts to get these needs met away from a relationship with God, stress and conflict arise in their lives. It is also theorized that when a person attempts to meet their needs in ungodly ways, it leads to addiction. These conflicts are caused by:
• Trying to get our needs met apart from God's plan for our lives.
• Not getting certain needs met because we are spending all our energy meeting
some needs while ignoring others.
• Reacting in a negative (angry, frustrated) way to unmet temperament needs.
Three Areas of Temperament
INCLUSION / CONTROL / AFFECTION
1: Inclusion (also Intellect)- the need to establish and maintain a satisfactory relationship with people in the area of surface relationships, associations and socialization (parties,
social gatherings, and people who come in and out of our lives every day). The area of inclusion also includes intellectual energies.
◦ How many people do I approach for socializing?
◦ How many people do I want to approach me for socializing?
2: Control (also Will)- the need to establish and maintain a satisfactory relationship with people in
respect to issues of control and power.
◦ How many people do I want to control?
◦ How many people will I allow to control me?
3: Affection (also Emotions)- the need to establish and maintain a satisfactory relationship with others in regard to love and affection. This area includes deep one-on-one relationships such as spouses, girlfriends or boyfriends, parents, children, and trusted friends.
◦ How much love and affection do I express toward others?
◦ How much love and affection do I want expressed toward me?
Strengths and Weaknesses
The APS enables the measurement of, and understanding the nature of a person’s temperament. Both strengths and weaknesses will be revealed. Areas of weakness typically provide the best opportunities for healing. Each three areas of temperament has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The description of your temperament test results will include both strengths and weaknesses which are usually demonstrated in someone who has your temperament profile type. This does not mean that you personally show these strengths and or weaknesses in your individual, unique life. Scripture says that out of our weaknesses we are made strong (Hebrews 11:34). "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” John 8:32.
An Important Thing To Remember:
As you read or discuss your profile, it is critical to remember that this is a general diagnosis and not a specific interpretation of your life or behavior. It is valuable because it will help you discover the strengths you may develop as well as the weaknesses you may resist. It will also reveal unmet needs that can cause stress and conflict in your life and your relationships with others.
Often it is difficult to consider the possibilities of weaknesses in our lives. However, if we are open to His transformational change and examine own weaknesses, "the truth will set you free" and will allow us to resolve conflicts and improve our relationships with loved ones.
