Trauma creates strongholds that help individuals survive through life. Within the stronghold the lining of the walls are filed with ridged beliefs that fortify that position to survive life. Unfortunately, those strongholds while seeming to be a safe haven, become the very prison that people stay. It is a comfortable misery that may be supported by "religious ideas" that sound good, but leave an empty shell void of spiritual transformation. Tired of being a prisoner of a stronghold created because of someone else?
Some individuals may ask, "Why not choose have the courage to move beyond the pain?" or "Why can't you just get over it and move on?"
The truth is, life can be a scary place to live when danger is always present. For instance if a tiger is right outside your door, you will probably not go outside. So trauma is embedded in our brain in a survival mode based on fear from what had occured. It remains a present event as a protective automatic process. Even though a person can "think" about it being in the past, the deeper region (emotion and physical) remains always on guard.
